Will I be able to bring my dog onboard?
Due to the close quarter situation onboard, only service dogs will be allowed onboard.
What about my bike?
Our service is bike-friendly. Bikes can be taken on the boats.
How long will the trip take?
The trip between Kingston and Seattle will take approximately 50 minutes, depending on weather and harbor traffic in Elliott Bay.
How often will the ferry run? Will there be evening and weekend service?
The ferry will operate one run in the morning and one run in the evening - See Schedule. Depending on the level of ridership, a mid-day run, evening runs and weekend service may be implemented.
What sort of food and beverage service will be available? Will you serve beer and wine?
Light food and beverage service will be available, as well as sales of beer, and wine.
Are reservations required?
Initially, reservations will not be necessary. As ridership increases and reaches the maximum capacity of the boat, we will likely implement a reservation system.
Can I purchase a monthly pass?
Yes, you can purchase a 20 one way punch card for $130 or a 40 one way punch card for $250.
What transit passes will be accepted? Will I be able to use my ORCA card?
The ORCA (one regional card for all) is coming soon. Both E-purse and 20-ride or 40-ride SoundRunner multi-ride tickets can be loaded on your ORCA card to pay your SoundRunner fare.
How do I purchase my ticket? Can I buy a One-way ticket?
Tickets can be purchased on the boat or from the ticket kiosk located at The Port of Kingston prior to departure. We are offering one-way fares and multiple punch passes.
Are the boats available to charter for special events?
Yes, both boats are available for charter outside of any scheduled commitments. Contact the SoundRunner Event Coordinator at 360-297-3016 for more information.
Are the boats safe?
Definitely. Each vessel is subject to U.S. Coast Guard annual inspection and is operated by highly trained captains and crew. The boats are in constant radio contact with the Vessel Traffic Service while underway and is never more than 20 minutes from the nearest port. Furthermore, each vessel is under an extensive maintenance and extended engine warranty program.
Do I have to go through security screening before boarding the ferry?
Not like you're used to at the airport. However, all passengers are subject to search and screening at any time while in the controlled embarkation and debarkation area.
I’d like to do work while on the ferry; will there be wi-fi service available?
