The Port of Kingston has 262 permanent moorage slips that range in size from 24 to 60 feet in length including 54 covered moorage slips. The uncovered moorage rate is $5.22 per foot plus a 12.84% leasehold tax. The covered moorage rate is $7.82 per foot plus a 12.84% leasehold tax. Electricity is invoiced at $.085 per kilowatt-hour. Liveaboards are limited to 5% of the permanent moorage tenants and must execute a liveaboard agreement with the Port Office. Services available to our tenants include, water, phone service, electronic key card access, 30 amp power, restrooms, and laundry facilities.
The waitlist for permanent moorage is roughly 6 months for smaller slips to an estimate of 10 years for the large covered slips (this is of course just an estimate.) To be placed on the waitlist you must complete an application, and pay a one-time non-refundable fee of $50.00 of which $40.00 will be applied towards your 1st month's rent.
All tenants must provide the Port Office with proof of insurance liability insurance in the amount of $300,000 prior to executing a moorage agreement.
Tenants may now sublease their slip for up to six months in a twelve month period. Those wishing to sublease from a permanent moorage tenant, must also provide the Port Office with proof of $300,000 liability insurance prior to executing a sublease agreement with the Port and the tenant.
